How To Write Author Resume

A resume is a written document that gives a brief synopsis of your skills and credentials to the employer. It basically helps you secure a job. Crafting an effective resume is not easy at all. You really need to work hard to craft an excellent resume that leaves a lasting impression on the employer. The job of an author is very difficult to perform. An individual who writes in such a way that his writings catch the eye of the reader is known as a professional author. He writes basically for commercial and profitable purposes.

Now, let us have a look at some of the important points that you must include in your resume:

1. Resume objective It is the most important part of your resume. You really need to write an excellent resume objective. A career objective is a short statement of not more than 7 – 8 words that portrays your career goals and objectives. It should not be too vague or generic. Make sure you do not write your full life story. Just try and be as precise as possible.

2. Credentials and skills Here you could state some of your qualities that relate to the post you are applying for. You could say that you have outstanding typing speed of 60 words per minute. You could even talk about some of your other skills such as: interpersonal and communication skills. These are some of the qualities that an author must have. An excellent author should be good in English.

3. Academic qualifications All the employers look forward to this part of your resume. You need to talk about any specific degree that you possess. You could say that you possess a bachelor’s degree in English Literature. This degree could really provide you an edge over other contenders.

4. Work experience and understanding You should talk about your preceding employers and companies. You also need to talk about some of the duties that you were given to execute. It is your resume so try and talk as much about you. Mention some of the awards that you have received for your contribution in this field.
