Marketing Techniques…The More You Know, The Better Equipped Is Your Business.

You’ve worked extremely hard… have done your homework to make sure there are buyers out there for your product or service.

Wow, it looks like your business is going to be an instant success…right?

Unfortunately, the important work hasn’t even begun. Your expertise in marketing techniques will be the difference in whether or not you stand a chance in accomplishing a prosperous business…or falling flat on your face.

I’ve observed that a lot of businesses really don’t explore all the marketing techniques that they could have available to them. Placing media in different channels can really make the difference in successfully growing a business.

“If it aint broke….don’t fix it!”, that’s a common thread in the minds of companies that limit their marketing techniques. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with doing what works…but…limiting your marketing techniques will eventually limit your success. What if your particular way of marketing stops working? Are you prepared to alter your plan?

But, even with that said, a business should be ever expanding their marketing techniques, so they can have the opportunity of always reaching their market in different channels offline and online.

And be sure the new marketing technique you decide to use…you know how to use it. Learn from those that are already having success with it and let them teach you. Don’t throw away your money and then decide it doesn’t work, because you didn’t utilize it the correct way…this could cost you a lot of profits and a new source of customers.

For example, if most of your marketing is online…offline marketing techniques can open your business to a whole new world of customers. But like I said again, its a good idea to get expert advise on how to do it.

Just know that even with all the research and right education on marketing techniques, there’s always little nuances of a technique that makes it work or not. But… knowing as much as you can up-front will lessen your chance of making mistakes and help your success.

Just be aware that after all the research of marketing techniques…It just might not work for your business. But don’t count it out until you have the facts.

* Yellow page ads… Magazine Ads… Newspaper ads… Valpak mailers… Physical press releases… Online Press releases… Articles in magazines… Articles online and in ezines…

*Radio interview spots…Interviews for T.V. … Telemarketing…trade shows…search engine optimization…charity events… blogging…800 numbers etc. etc.

I’m sure the marketing techniques could go on and on and you could add quite a few other marketing techniques that I never even thought about.

But the idea here is to NOT push away a marketing technique because you just don’t think its possible to do…or you may just think it’s just plain stupid or beneath you.

Always try to expand in your marketing techniques. Get the right information from those who already successfully utilize the marketing strategy and learn how to do it yourself.

I’m reminded of the show “The Deadliest Catch”, when it comes to marketing techniques.

Crab fishing is hard and a lot of times… a frustrating endeavor. But despite all the challenges, the only thing that matters at the end of the day is having the crab to sell.

The captain must travel the sea to many spots to have the best possible chance of catching the maximum amount of crab. They’re releasing the crab pods all over the place to eventually fill the ship.

Some spots do better than others and some do really well…but that doesn’t mean that that spot will always do well. That’s why many areas are covered with many different pods.

Your marketing efforts using many marketing techniques is like the crab fisherman. Having many marketing techniques in use, will yield far greater results. If by some chance a certain technique stops working well….you know so many others to keep driving your business forward. More pods in the water, give you a greater chance of catching or finding you future customer.

So to summarize, don’t discount any of the many marketing techniques out there. If you don’t know about one…find out… and learn how to use it correctly in your business. You never know what can happen for your business by having an open mind and thinking outside the box.
