Paying Attention to Car Gauges on the Instrument Cluster
Many of us drive a car everyday yet we ignore the instrument cluster that is located in front of us. We check the speedometer to see if we are going too fast because we don’t want to be stopped by the police if we go beyond the prescribed speed.
However, there are still other car gauges that we should check from time to time. They are built in your car for the reason that they are informing us of the total condition of the car. They are there to warn us if there are any problems that are happening in the car’s engine.
Usually, we pay attention to the gas gauge and the speedometer. On the other hand, we only glance at the warning lights and not more on the gauges. A typical driver doesn’t have a lot of information about the other gauges that are in their cars and where should their attentions focus on that’s why they notice the warning lights.
An important feature in your car that should be noticed is the water temperature gauge because it indicates whether the level of the engine’s temperature stays normal. The normal temperature range is from 200 to 210 degrees. However, pay attention and stop the car when the heat exceeds the normal and won’t go down.
Another important gauge is the oil pressure gauge and this tells you the pressure of the oil pumping in the engine. This is considered important because when there is a loss of oil pressure, it signifies that there might be a blockage or there is a large amount of oil that is lost. When this happens, it can cause damage that is hard to repair.
The tachometer gauge measures the car engine’s revolution per minute (RPM). When the RPM level is higher, there is also a possibility that the engine will break down because of too much force.
The other gauge that should be looked into is the oil temperature gauge since this detects if there are any trouble with the engine. When the oil temperature is too high, the engine will probably break down and lose the ability to lubricate the engine. This is said to be a less common gauge because if the water temperature is still okay, then the engine is still in shape.
The instrument clusters should not be taken for granted when driving your car. The warning lights are there, yet, they might warn you when it?s too late. Don’t just wait for it to come because when it does, it means that you are in big trouble. When this happens, you should stop your car and have it fixed.
