My friends and family often joke and describe me as the coupon clipping queen. We subscribe to delivery of the Sunday newspaper only, just so I can get my coupons. You will know where to find me every Sunday afternoon: in the living room, hunched over the coffee table, holding scissors in one hand and the coupon advertisements in the other. After I’m done clipping my coupons, I place them in a shoebox I have designated to hold them. I try to keep the coupons organized in the box, but it’s a little difficult.

Currently my family is enduring some tough times from a financial standpoint. In the past year, both my husband and I have struggled with unemployment after he and I both lost our jobs. With a considerable amount of household bills, we both became anxious about financial matters. As a result of our financial situation, we had to make some tough choices about the household budget. I have now learned what I can live without; we are constantly searching for more frugal ways to run our household.
