Wenzel Grand Lodge Review – For Real Campers!
The Wenzel Grand Lodge is truly camping in style. A super choice for larger families, especially if you like to spend time on the campground. There’s space enough for the children to be playing inside without being under your feet but this beauty weighs in at 47 lbs so you don’t want to be carrying it too far.
Main Features
Despite the enormous size of the Wenzel Grand Lodge, it has been cleverly designed so as to fit inside a standard campground pitch, thereby not restricting where you can go like some of the larger family tents.
Astoundingly, even being the size it is, this tent can be set up by a single adult without help. The individual components are manageable in size and weight and the canvas is cleverly arranged to make it a one man (or woman!) job.
The layout is basic, just 2 rooms, but this makes for easy pitching, access and use.
Full head room throughout is of course a major feature of the Wenzel Grand Lodge. This helps you to avoid back ache and enjoy your home away from home.
Although Weather Armor fabric is used it is still necessary to seal all the seams against heavy rain before you go. Don’t forget.
The roof of the Wenzel Grand Lodge is predominantly mesh screen so airflow is great. It doesn’t get stuffy even in direct sunlight. However, being so large, heat retention can be an issue when the temperature falls so be sure to read our user suggestions on this point.
The rain fly can have problems of holding water but this is easily solved by pegging it out independently. This is explained further in our worst points section.
Wenzel’s excellent welded tub floor makes sure your gear stays dry from the ground. Without any stitching in the corners, water can’t seep in so you don’t get any damp soggy corners to mess up your bedding.
Now we’ll look at the best and worst features of the Wenzel Grand Lodge as well as detailing the dimensions and statistics. The summary of user reviews and opinions make valuable extra reading too.
